Kirtan, Yoga & Sound Healing
Sunday, March 24th, 9:00am-11:00am
Join Angelique and Caroline for yoga, singing and sound healing. We will gather together to learn the meaning of a few ancient songs, handed down by the sages and experience the JOY of singing together with the intention of not only lifting our own vibrations but lifting those of our loved ones and communities. It is said that if we sing with our hearts, it doesn’t matter how we sound, so we will work toward shaking off the self consciousness of “singing to be heard” and work toward “singing to heal”. We will sound like JOY together.
After we open the session with our own personal sounds, Angelique will then guide our bodies through an ecstatic heart and throat opening practice to keep the vibrations churning within. We will weave together song, heart and truth to thaw out anything that has been “stuck” with us all Winter. To cap off our morning, we will allow the gong to blow smooth off the rough edges and shake off anything else left clogging the soul. There’s no time like March to shed old skin and ideals, so that we can burst forth into Spring feeling fresh and invigorated.
Participants will arrive to prepared spaces with mats, bolsters and blankets with the idea that once you are through the door, you need only care for yourself and allow yourself to be cared for. Some practitioners prefer their own yoga mat, so bring one if you’d like if it will help you feel more at home. A water bottle is always a great idea and if you tend to get very cold when lying still, you may want to bring your favorite fuzzy blanket and socks as well.
