Welcome To The Inner Strength Community!
In a conversation with my wonderful friend, Jamie, about the business side of yoga, I was able to finally verbalize what The Yoga Hut truly is. The Yoga Hut isn’t a business. The Yoga Hut is a “community”. To us, yoga isn’t a business; it’s love. We love to teach one student just as much as we love to teach thirty. It’s a community of giving and receiving and the partnership between teachers and students. It’s also not just a yoga asana/postures place. It’s the other yoga too; the Prana, energy, Reiki, Sound Healing, massage, dance, meditation, the chickens on the back deck, the laughter, light and love.
We are building a community of Jay-Oh-Why with capital JOY, with a good smear of strength, inside and out!
The Yoga Hut is a place for new yogis looking to test the waters for the first time, once a month yogis looking for a “time out” and a place for seasoned yogis to grow their practice. It’s a place to rest and restore, to laugh and cry and then lie completely wrung out in Sivasana and think “thank god I’m still alive”. It’s a place to crack up at ourselves and then find the courage to dig a little deeper. The Yoga Hut is for the dancers and the meditators. It’s for the focused and the frazzled alike. It’s for the programmers and the artists and the children and the lovers. It’s a space that was built with love by my husband, Bill Karditzas, with the Field Of Dreams philosophy that, “if you build it, they will come”.
If need be, The Yoga Hut is a place you can bring your heart heavy things and little by little, learn to put them down. We all know that life can be overwhelming and serious, not to mention down right bone crushing at times too: birth, death, jobs, traffic, children, bosses, spouses, stubbed toes, burnt dinners, unpaid bills, flooded basements, diseases. Life, like our very own Angelique Karditzas says, it’s “all the things” and those things can weigh us down, like filling our pockets with stones over time. When our cosmic pockets get too full and we feel like we’re going to freak out, it’s time to find ways to adjust the perspective…..maybe instead of shining the spotlight on the “issues”, we start to look for the cracks of light squeezing between the stones. We drag ourselves to a place of community, sliding our mat up next to a perfect stranger’s or a friend’s mat, knowing that someone is going to help us change the batteries in our cosmic flashlight because we need to find some light. That person might be next to us. That person might be the teacher. That person might be in the form of an inner whisper that we haven’t been able to hear for a while over the noise of life. That light might override the noise and might then start to look like JOY. Then that JOY might start to reprogram us and help us see our capacity for MORE! That MORE might feel like FREEDOM and that freedom might start to look like LIFE. What if our lives looked like JOY?
The Yoga Hut welcomes you. Truly. Our community accepts YOU.
Nama-stay awesome and may you increase your capacity for MORE…..more life, more love, more JOY!
Hugs and Cosmic Rumblings,
